Pay off the credit card with the highest interest rate first

Pay off the credit card with the highest interest rate first. Ignore the balance when determining which account to pay off. What ever your situation may be, consult a financial expert to you and your particular financial situation. The goal is all the same, pay off your debt.

EVE Online’s Rippling Effects of War on the Economy

The faster the market turns over, the higher and higher the prices go. Would-be explorers or combat pilots are now finding lucrative employment as miners and transporters, whether it be as a freelancer or for corporations. The boom in mining has caused the going price for mining and transport barges to leap. The effects of war appear to ripple through the entire singularity.

Airfare search alternatives to kayak

A few sites for last minute deals. And these two look like kayak clones but are worth checking out. Hey why not, it’s not like it costs anything to look up flights! I usually sign up for RSS alerts that get sent to a “deals” inbox I setup a rule for, or i’ll have them sent to a junk email account.

Uruguay has become the first country to provide a laptop for every child attending state primary school

The Uruguay programme has cost the state $260 (£159) per child, including internet connections, equipment repairs, maintenance costs, and training for the teachers, but the extent to which they use the laptops in the classroom is up to them. Meanwhile, pilot programs in Ethiopia with the OLPC XO laptop are stalling. Teachers resent the device and consider it a toy.

Why is it so hard to get Internet service without cable and phone?

So comcast, you want $99, that’s what you’re telling me, otherwise it’s $60 + $7 fee + $2.25 “tax” for the Internet by itself? Basically what they’re doing is extortion. My internet connection is my little corner store, and they’ll knock it over if I don’t pay up. Everything they advertise is just marketing gimmicks to make it look like you can get a service for a low price, but there’s really no such thing because it’s not an individual option.

Cheap RAID storage

RAID storage has come down in price in a very short period of time. Is there really any point to spending tens of thousands for small workgroups?

The best way to search for available domain names

I found two really useful sites to use when searching for domain names. I was trying some other sites too but they were kind of flaky. One completely died while I was firing away names at it in multiple windows. Anyway, these two are all you really need. I spent the most time on Bust-a-name. If you know exactly what you want, go to PC Names and just type it in. As you type it will let you know what’s available. Instant domain name completion.

My product reviews on Amazon

Weeks and weeks after throwing away the boxes that my stuff arrived in, I got the email from amazon asking me to review my recently purchased crap. So I just got done reviewing a couple of things I bought; a cpu heatsink, ethernet over power (a.k.a. powerline) adapters, and a saitek backlit keyboard on amazon. The email asked me to write a review of x, y, and z. But then after my first review I noticed …

Recession vs. Linux

The food and restaurant industry might be down across the board, but some areas seem to be doing quite fine. Amazon is reporting record sales this year. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/081230-Amazon-Reports-Record-Holiday-Sales/
I was in a mall today and saw a line 20 deep in the food court for Taco Bell. People …
