How can you go wrong here?! Go grab your copy of these games today. Support indie developers with your wallet. Take that $15 that big corporate demands you to pay for map packs and mini expansions to games you’ve already paid $50 for and give it directly to developers and/or charity instead.

Profits Reign Supreme in the Gaming Industry

Interesting story lines, chilling realism, humorous dialog, wicked interfaces, re-playability, the list goes on and on. Add them all up and they’re quickly being outpaced by the importance of profit, profit, profit. It’s sad but true. Reading this story about the executive level restructuring at blizzard only reinforces my thoughts. There’s nothing on the surface that screams we need more money from these people!, but the writing is on the wall. Support the developers. Break free from the big box companies’ strangle hold and support the industry from the right end. Check out all the goodness available out there and vote with your dollar because sadly, nothing else really matters.

The beta is out right now. You’re stuck with one game type and one map right now, but it’s a big map and, wait for it, the server browser is included. There are hundreds of servers up right now from all over the world. BFBC2 is, without a doubt, 10x better than Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 will have dedicated servers

There it is, simple math: BFBC2 > MW2. The only part that worries me is the whole rental-agreement for a dedicated server. Hopefully the mod community will come out in full force after the MW2 debacle. I’d like to host my own private server and have it show up on the public list of private servers. If I have to rely on a 3rd party to host my server, I have no doubt that whatever hacks come out for the game will work on my server. At least I’ll be able to kick hackers and insta-ban them, well, one can only hope.
