ATI eyefinity is limited but I still want

ATI eyefinity video cards support up to six displays and multiple cards can be used together in a single machine for a single virtual display. AMD says they’ll be able to chain together enough of their eyefinity cards to create a resolution that approaches eye-definition optical clarity at 12x 1080p.

Emotiv Headgear and the Future of Avatars

Maybe i’m one of those minorities, but just last year’s Surrogates movie showed the darker side of avatars. Think of the expectations you face when avatars integrate into your working life. Avatars interacting between two coworkers is one thing, but between the HR department or other organizations is another. Now I’ll have to worry about being mistreated or discriminated against if I don’t choose the proper look.

Load virtual tape drives directly

Lets start by assuming you’ve already installed mhvtl, you have a few virtual tape drives, a media changer, and a bunch of virtual tapes. You can control the media changer or library device at /dev/changer. Using MTX utilities, you can ask the changer to load tapes into drives and list map, etc. But i’ve found it’s actually easier for testing to control the drives directly. You can load and unload tapes directly into and out of a drive by barcode label and tape drive queue.

HP Thin Client image under VirtualBox

Use the following steps to get an image of a HP Thin Client running as a virtual machine in VirtualBox. I’m running Fedora 11 and VirtualBox 3.0.0 r49315. The thin client is running a stripped down Debian Etchnhalf (no ‘less’ pager command, man pages?!) And finally, if you log in with root or another user, you’ll get to a full xfce desktop
