District 9 sequel - District 10 Return of the Prawns

If you saw District 9, then you know it’s set up for an easy sequel. The writer/director Neill Blomkamp has said he would love to return to this storyline. Blomkamp has been a professional animator since age 16 and has worked as 3D animator, lead animator, and lead 3D animator on a number of popular TV shows. I’m sure many people are disappointed in the big Halo movie letdown. You have Fox, Universal, and Microsoft to blame for that. But as for a District 9 sequel what are the most obvious routes to take? I hope he comes up with something completely original that no one has thought of as of yet. And i’m still holding my breath for Halo!

Turn the tables

Christopher returns with several Motherships and an army of prawn soldiers. They turn the tables by enslaving the human race. Christopher and his son are on humanity’s side.

Domestic dispute

Christopher returns, Wikus van der Merwe changes back into a human but he is no longer accepted by his wife, then wishes he could be alien again.

Mixed race

Merwe’s fate is a mystery while he debates whether he wants to be human or remain an alien. Perhaps he eventually sees the dark side of the aliens or realizes he will never be fully accepted as an alien because of his human past and is left in limbo.

The first one might be too much sci-fi for most people to swallow. You might as well call it Battlefield Earth or Starship Troopers. This reverse racism plot may as well be directed by Uwe Boll and sent straight to blockbuster/netflix. I can see the other two put together as one movie, and that might work as long as it doesn’t end up like Hancock.
