Free website monitoring from all over the world

There are quite a few online companies that offer to monitor your website and alert you when it becomes inaccessible from different places around the globe. They send you email and SMS messages along with reporting features. And there are a few good ones that offer this service in a limited function for free.

Their slogan is “The free website monitoring service that doesn’t suck.” This one checks URLs every 30 minutes. You get an RSS feed for status and emails when your site goes down and comes back up. They use multiple monitoring locations around the U.S. that regularly change.
