In their ongoing campaign to dumb down their Linux distribution for the Windows crowd, Canonical has stripped the md5 checksum data from their download page.
You won’t find it anywhere here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
And instead of presenting all of the available downloads in a simple format, they present you with a 1, 2, 3 menu with a bunch of help text and links to more help; none of which let you know where to find the actual checksums.

Take the checksums for Lucid Lynx for example. Why do they make it hard to find this information?
Thank you !
I needed to come here to find the info… Thx Canonical…
Checksum verification page is neither linked nor even obvious to find in Google.
Thanks a lot!
There is a community help page at: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes
The only thing missing there are the community-maintained PowerPC builds, but it’s still a much better interface than the one you were talking about. Thanks again!
