Stuck!

If you like sticking explosive crossbow bolts and/or semtex sticky grenades to people and watching or listening to them explode, you should try mastering the Nuketown map.

Nuketown is a very small map where everyone knows the camping spots so you can sometimes get epic kills by blindly jumping out in the open and firing at some weird angle to stick someone hiding behind a dresser, desk, fence, or whatever their special little camp spot might be.

Learn the map, then the gameplay

The map is easy to learn due to its tiny size and rather straight forward layout, however, there are plenty of nooks and crannies campers try to hide in here. Knowing where people tend to go when they spawn in a certain location, or based on their teammates locations, or the current game type is crucial to success. Thing rings true for all maps, in all FPS games. Knowing your map is crucial to success!

You might be surprised how the ebb and flow feels different between each game type here. Even Domination and Team Death Match which normally play fairly similarly have their own distinct play styles here. At first glance the killzones may appear the same, but it’s the details that matter when you’re looking for the one-shot-one-kill.

If you find yourself struggling to get a stuck kill or two every few minutes, don’t give up. There’s hope! You just need to learn the gameplay of Nuketown. Find the servers that run Nuketown 24/7 and study hard. Before you know it you’ll be getting 5-10 kills with the bow alone.

Mastered the bow? Try the tomahawk!

Don your flak jacket and hatchet and go at them, kamikaze style! Put down the frag grenade and step up your game. Nuketown is a tempting place for frags and noob tubes, but as a seasoned veteran you may find the kills aren’t quite as fun and become quite boring. Nothing is quite as rewarding as the one shot kills from the tomahawk, knife, bow, and to a lesser extent the sticky grenade. Now for some famous camping killzones in Nuketown

1. In the house on the 2nd floor.

Stick an arrow or semtex grenade onto the ceiling to kill the guys that hide in the corner behind the bed and on top of it. From behind the truck/bus you can jump and shoot to nail this shot easily.

2. In the house on the 1st floor just inside the front door.

Nubs troll here, stick them. Even if no one’s camping here it’s a high traffic area.

3. Behind the jeep.

Blow up the jeep or throw semtex over the power transformer. Consussion grenade will slow them down so you can get the kill without even sticking it to them. If they’re behind the jeep, they’re probably facing it and will need to turn 90 degrees in order to run away – strafing will be ultra slow.

4. Opposite side from the jeep, along the fence.

There’s a few little cutouts that give the camper a nice false sense of security due to the occlusion and low traffic in Team Death Match – Fire at will.

5. Behind the shed.

Use penetration to shoot through the shed or lob a semtex from the spawn in the very back. Getting a kill 3 seconds after spawning is always a nice surprise.

6. Top of the stairs.

This is by far the most camped location in the map. Run in the house and stick these guys. You’ll probably die, but the stick-kill is worth it.

7. Objective B.

This should go without mention, but this objective is the deal-breaker in Domination mode. If you don’t hold the middle spot longer than the other guys, you’re not going to win. Step 1: Stick a crossbow bolt to the fence. Step 2: Fist pump.

Here’s a little youtube video that shows a great way to spawn rush the enemy and dominate the map. Too bad he’s a console player, he doesn’t have a server browser where he can play Nuketown every match (or avoid it, or choose his game type, or ping, or anything! haha consolers… they crack me up)
