Sorry console gamers, none for you, but for the true FPS gamer out there that understands the necessity of a mouse and keyboard, here are some console commands you can use when you enable the console.

You can thank AgentGod for doing what the game publishers didn’t have the brains to accomplish.

Make sure you disable VAC before attempting to mod the game so you don’t get banned.

You may recognize many of these as the same codes from COD4. A few might not work, and some are pretty much useless. If you try to change the map when you’re not “the server”, it will just crash your game and you’ll have to restart. Making some textures invisible makes it hard to walk around. Have fun.

You don’t have to minimize the game to access the console. Even if you can’t see it, as long as you see your mouse cursor, you can type the commands. Start with the tilda or F2 or whatever it is you use to bring up the console, then type away and hit enter. The affects take effect immediately.

Console Codes for Modern Warfare 2

toggle r_showLeafLights
Displays lines where the light comes through the leaves.

toggle r_showtricounts
Displays numbers on each texture.

toggle r_showportals
Displays where you can access.

toggle cg_draw2d
Disables the on screen icons, such as radar and health. Useful for taking good screenshots.

cg_fov “80″
Change the field of view. Downside is it makes everything a little smaller.

give (insert desried object)
gives you a weapon, object or health

give ammo
Gives the player 10 Grenades and 1 Panzerfaust. May not work on some levels / crash the game.

give all
Gives the player all weapons in the game as well as filling up health.

toggle r_lightmap
Makes the ground and walls white.

toggle cg_drawgun
Makes your weapons invisible. Useful for people with lag.

toggle r_measureOverdraw
Puts the game in multi-colors.

toggle r_fastsky
Removes clouds and makes the sky lighter.

toggle cg_thirdperson
Puts the camera at the 3rd person view. You are usually invisible though.

map_restart
Restarts the current level.

toggle g_entinfo
Shows scripts above all soldiers and highlights important objects.

r_vc_stats
Shows some stats about the game in the console.

toggle r_showtris
Shows the game in wireframe mode.

toggle r_lockpvs
Some textures turn invisible.

toggle cg_drawshader
Tells you what each texture is.

party_hostmigration 0
Could not get this one to work. Crashes game.

Ufo
Allows the player to zoom around the level, going up with jump and down with crouch.

Viewpos
Shows your coordinates in the console.

Noclip
Walk through walls
