Sports fans don’t generally switch sides in the middle of a season, let alone in the middle of a game just because someone on a rival team is doing well. You’d be lucky if they even give the opponent credit for doing well. Perhaps that pro sports mentality spills over into politics when you talk about Democrats vs. Republicans.
When I saw people supporting Sarah Palin for Vice President, it didn’t bother me if the reasons were because they wanted someone fresh in politics or they wanted to see a woman in office. But when people try to say Palin has a proven track record, more experience or better credentials than Obama or Biden, that just begs the question, what’s really going on here!? Perhaps they are just ignorant. Maybe they didn’t realise that Barack Obama was a Senator before the presidential race or maybe they just got it backwards and thought Sarah Palin was the senator. Maybe they thought Palin had been in office for more than several months. When I hear this kind of complete nonsense, I just want to pull that person to the side and say, “Hey… it’s because he’s black right? I mean if it’s racism motivating you, then just say so! Maybe you just need to let it out and deal with it.” It’s understandable when people are misinformed, but it bothers me when they know the truth yet insist on spreading their lies.
No more lies - Just the facts please. The race is over and now you have a pretty simple decision to make. Who’s team are you on now? If you’re an American then Obama is your president, so just take a deep breath and accept it. If you want to see him fail, then you wish for the U.S. to fail. Why would you wish that? Who’s team are you on anyway?!
