The recent steam update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 claims to have fixed the following issues, but in reality it’s mostly talk:

*Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry markers sprint speed normalized
*Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing Sentry Guns inside geometry
*Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination same range/damage as non-Bling
*Improved player collision removing elevators and cases of getting into geometry
*Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency
*Fixes to prevent various texture and XP hacks

Care package runners are still too fast, and by care package I really mean any of those package grenades that allow you to run as if you’re speed hacking, except the developers somehow left it that way when they released the game. And if they slowed it down any, it’s still not nearly enough. You still run much faster than with a handgun.

Model 1887’s still have too much range, although they did make somewhat of an improvement. I still feel cheap using them, so i’ll continue to skip them in favor of the previous shotgun. It’s just more fun to use :)

But the big problem I have is with the “various texture and XP hacks”. I think their fixes lasted on the order of hours rather than days. The hackers seem to be having no problem hacking away on public servers, whether they’re using the same method of injecting private matches into the public lists or not, I couldn’t care less. I still randomly get thrown into a rust server with never ending domination, except that now, after their patch, I’ve been seeing the points for a single kill take you from level 1 right through 70, and that’s just one kill!!! 4.9E999999 points per kill. And not only massively increased speed hacks, but now they’re also flying with moon gravity. The last match I entered, I could jump from the ground to the top platform on the rust map.

Release the $@%! dedicated servers already! I’m tired of playing the PC version like it’s a console. If I wanted to play with the 360’s pathetic matchmaking and no ability to add maps, mods, or other content, I would have just bought a console! But you can’t even get that right can you since these hacks have all been reported on Xbox 360 and PC.
