Android update to include flash for Verizon’s Droid smartphone

So it’s delayed, it’s not that big of a deal. Features found in the Nexus phone that are missing will be a nice addition, but the big news is flash support is coming. Google Nexus One Smartphone has arrived

The Nexus One was released today! Built by HTC, the unlocked version is $530 (the phone works with “nearly all” GSM SIM cards, according to Google) or you can pay $180 for the typical two-year contract with T-Mobile. if you already have tmob service, but don’t have a data plan, it will cost $280 for the phone. Google says there will be other carriers and plans coming sometime in the future. I think the arrival of the Google phone pretty much spells the end for the Droid.

I joke, I joke, but what will they do? Perhaps it will just mean an even cheaper price point as microsoft takes a loss like they did with the original Xbox. When netbooks first came out, they only ran Linux, and microsoft got scared and changed their mind about ditching XP. It’s too bad the consumer demand for XP over Vista never influenced their decision. That would be out of character for microsoft.
