Also, the studio that made Homefront is the same company that made Frontlines: Fuel of War. That game was pretty fun, but seemed incomplete and had control issues, I remember.
Here’s hoping they tweaked and tightened.
If you like sticking explosive crossbow bolts and/or semtex sticky grenades to people and watching or listening to them explode, you should try mastering the Nuketown map. Don your flak jacket and hatchet and go at them, kamikaze style!
Does Treyarch just lack what’s required to do justice to the Call of Duty title. Treyarch has a knack for riding the coattails of Infinity Ward, screwing everything else up. World at War was a step backward from Modern Warfare, and Call of Duty 3 was just a complete bomb. After the massive blunders in the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 of an otherwise stellar release, perhaps the door is wide open for true fps perfection.
The campaign is good but the multiplayer is buggy. The next Call of Duty is right around the corner and it will blow MOH out of the water. If you need a quick FPS fix, go play COD4 or World at War.
Remember the old days when Counterstrike was fresh and ground breaking in the fps genre? Perhaps the latest release of Call of Duty is nothing but a rehash of past success, but digging up more game types is definitely a step in the right direction.
Take a quick look on ebay and you’ll find plenty of results for Ghost’s balaclava. One of them even includes a cheesy hooded jacket and knee pads for a ridiculous price, but I see nothing that even comes close to the detail and quality of KChanko’s gear.
Care package runners are still too fast, and by care package I really mean any of those package grenades that allow you to run as if you’re speed hacking. Model 1887’s still have too much range, although they did make somewhat of an improvement. I still feel cheap using them, so i’ll continue to skip them in favor of the previous shotgun. But the big problem I have is with the various texture and XP hacks. I think their fixes lasted on the order of minutes or hours rather than days.
Scavenger is an often overlooked perk, and many times for good reason as Sleight of Hand’s reload speed and aiming speed mean the difference between life and death for a run-n-gun offensive player. Marathon is a no-brainer for stabaholics, but Scavenger has its moments too. It all depends on the loadouts of your teammates, the map you’re playing on, and probably most important, the game type.
Frag grenades won’t work because you can’t cook them forever, and once you pull one out you can’t switch to another weapon. But the semtex timer won’t start until you let go of it or die. So this is probably a technical glitch. This will be a suicide run, but when you die the semtex will drop and explode the javelin. If you don’t have the javelin pulled out, this won’t work because only your current weapon drops to the ground. If you have the danger-close perk enabled, the resulting explosion will be even larger. I wonder if using last stand with this would have any effect, such as kills from the afterlife, or assisted suicide points for the enemy.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PC does have a config file with settings that are modifiable. You can open the config file in notepad and edit away. Don’t remove anything or add extra lines or your game will crash. It’s also against your legal terms of use psycho-babble i’m sure.
