I use the little green laptop on recreational travel because the wifi signal strength is much better than your average laptop and it’s been less likely to get stolen since most people look at it and think it’s a toy. Hopefully they’ll release the next version of the laptop soon so i’ll have one to play with again! So long XO.
Get a developer key and install Unbuntu on a usb disk so you can boot any XO from the USB disk without modifying your XO laptop. All production XO laptops have firmware security enabled when you receive them. Once unlocked, you can run any operating system you want.

The Uruguay programme has cost the state $260 (£159) per child, including internet connections, equipment repairs, maintenance costs, and training for the teachers, but the extent to which they use the laptops in the classroom is up to them. Oooo an irc client… i hate the state that most of the sugar software is in. I just feel like it’s all forced, I mean what’s the big deal anyway? Is it just my XO that’s slow and boring? I’m about to put Linux on the XO, and sugar on a regular Intel desktop. How backwards is that?! Maybe sugar will be usable on a real machine.
