Our Sun is a gigantic sphere of hot boiling hydrogen. Ok, you probably already knew that. But did you know that it is not on fire? It only appears bright to our eyes because it is hot. The sun is not on fire because fire is the rapid oxidation of a combustible material releasing heat, light, and various reaction products.
